Keeping it 100....
One moment I’m catching my breath, the next, I’m losing it again. Between health scare after health scare, a looming surgery, a cancer diagnosis, relationships shifting or fading, and still trying to figure out what “home” even means while navigating career transitions, it’s been… a lot.
And yet, through all of that, I’m choosing to celebrate myself.
It’s not the kind of celebration that comes with balloons or applause. It’s the quiet kind, the kind that says “I’m still here.” It’s lighting a candle for the parts of me that are still fighting, still dreaming, still finding beauty even in the mess.
Launching my own consultancy in the midst of so much uncertainty feels like both a risk and a revelation. It’s scary, yes but it’s also mine. I’m learning that sometimes the best way to face the dark is to create something that reminds you of your own light.
So I’ve been leaning into passion projects like my 40th birthday celebration, not as an escape but as a declaration. A reminder that even when things are falling apart, there’s still room for joy, softness and a little bit of magic.
I’m also getting back to my BasiX, the things that keep me grounded: movement, nourishment, stillness, community. The simple but sacred rituals that remind me who I am when everything else feels uncertain.
Because the truth is, even when shit ain’t sweet, you’ve got to find a way to make it that way. You’ve got to make your own light.
So here’s to celebrating yourself through the darkness, not because everything’s perfect, but because you deserve to be seen, honored, and loved right where you are.
Here’s to showing up.
Here’s to softness in the storm.
Here’s to finding sweetness, even here.
